Is the flu vaccine safe?
- Yes. The flu vaccine is safe and will NOT make you sick. Getting the flu WILL make you sick. The seasonal flu vaccine has a very good safety record. Most people who receive the seasonal flu vaccine do not experience any symptoms afterwards; some feel a temporary mild soreness in the arm. The nasal spray vaccine is also safe, effective, and easy to use.
How much does the flu vaccine cost?
- Adults: The flu vaccine at Madison County Health Department flu clinics is $40 for adults or the cost is based on a sliding-fee scale for the uninsured. Cash, check, credit card, and some insurance plans listed below are accepted.
- Children: For eligible children under age 19 years, a $24 administration fee will be charged and the vaccine may be provided by the New York State Immunization Program at or below cost.
(Administration fees cover the cost of staff time and supplies.)
