Genital HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Human papillomavirus is the name of a group of viruses that includes more than 100 different strains or types. More than 30 of these viruses are sexually transmitted, and they can infect the genital area of men and women including the skin of the penis, vulva (area outside the vagina), or anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, or rectum. Madison County Health Department provides the Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for females 9-26 year olds.
- Under 19 years of age
- The 3-shot vaccine series is FREE
- You do NOT need to reserve your dose
- Attend a regularly scheduled clinic to receive your vaccination or call 366-2361 for an appointment
- For those 19-26 years of age
- The cost for the 3-shot vaccine series is $130 per dose. (Money is required at the time of each vaccination.)
