Change the World, Start with the ENERGY STAR Pledge

Madison County has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR campaign and wants to encourage residents to take the ENERGY STAR Pledge.

The ENERGY STAR Pledge is about making energy efficient choices to help save energy, save money and protect the environment.

Join the millions who have already taken the ENERGY STAR Pledge and help Madison County reach its pledge drive goal because through individual action we CAN make a big difference!

Madison County’s
ENERGY STAR Pledge Drive Goal:

We want to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by:

2,492,000 lbs (how close are we to our goal?)

This is the CO2 equivalent of annually:

  • Taking 216 cars off the road!
  • Planting a 241 acre pine forest!
  • Saving 2,629 barrels of oil!

All from each of us making small changes!

Even small steps can make a huge difference:

By taking the pledge, residents will also help Madison County achieve its greenhouse gas reduction goals set as part of the Central New York Climate Change Innovation Program (C2IP).

Madison County was one of nine communities selected by the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board for C2IP grant funding. The grant will provide Madison County up to $30,000 for an innovative demonstration project to promote the use of energy conservation measures and alternative energy development.
