- Registered Nurses sought for full-time position with the Madison County Health Department. This is a professional nursing position which involves responsibility for coordinating individual patient care and for performing nursing services requiring substantial specialized judgment and skills. NYS licensure, current registration and NYS driver’s license are required. 2008 Minimum Hire Rate: $19.77/hr. - Certified Home Health Aides sought for full-time and per diem positions with the Madison County Health Department. This work involves the personal care of patients in the normal activities of daily living at their place of residence. Applicants must have successfully completed a basic training program for Home Health Aides approved by the New York State Department of Health. Certified Nursing Assistants are also encouraged to apply. 2008 Hire Rate: $13.49/hr. Excellent fringe benefits including health insurance and New York State Retirement offered.

Assistant Director of Patient Services
Typical Work Activities:
- Assists the Director of Patient Services in planning, initiating and directing the nursing program;
- Acts for the Director in his or her absence;
- Assists in developing and evaluating the nursing service, in relation to the total health program;
- Plans and coordinates in-service educational programs and provides educational guidance for nursing staff and the Home Health Aide staff;
- Participates in recruitment, employment and assignment of nursing staff and Home Health Aides;
- Participates in professional conferences;
- Develops manuals, guides and other materials for use by nursing staff and the Home Health Aides;
- Conducts statistical surveys of health program activities;
- Supervises nursing practice to ensure a high quality of professional services and maintenance of agency standards;
Minimum Qualifications:
Either:
(A)Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master's Degree in Nursing and one year of full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent in community health nursing; OR
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and two years of full-time paid experience or its equivalent in community health nursing; OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements for Acceptance of Applications:
Eligibility for a New York State Registered Professional Nurse's license at time of application. Possession of the license at time of appointment.
